Jennifer Lopez has officially filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, bringing an end to their second marriage after two years.
According to sources close to the couple, Lopez made the decision after Affleck showed no interest in reconciling their fractured relationship. The “This Is Me…Now” star is said to be disappointed and sad but has reached a point where she needs to prioritize her own well-being.
The divorce filing comes just two years after the couple’s highly publicized wedding in Georgia. Lopez listed the date of separation as April 26, 2024, and has waived spousal support.
While there are no children from their current marriage, Affleck and Lopez will need to navigate the division of property acquired during their union.
The couple’s blended family, which includes Affleck’s three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner and Lopez’s twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony, is said to be accepting of the divorce.
The news of the separation comes after rumors of trouble in paradise surfaced earlier this year, with reports of the couple attending couples therapy.
