Award-winning singer Adele (36) revealed she will be taking a break from her music career after completing her Las Vegas residency. The announcement came during a concert in Munich, Germany on August 31st.
“I’ve had a wonderful time performing these past three years,” Adele told the crowd. “It’s the longest I’ve ever toured, and likely the longest I ever will.”
With ten shows remaining in her residency due to previous illness, Adele expressed her intention to step back from the spotlight after their conclusion. “I won’t be seeing you all for a very long time,” she said, “but I’ll hold you close in my heart during my break.”
Adele emphasized her need for rest and her appreciation for her fans. “I’ll be fantasizing about our time together,” she added.
The singer also hinted at focusing on her personal life during her hiatus. “The last seven years have been about building a new life for myself, and now I want to live it,” she shared. This may include spending time with her fiancĂ©, sports agent Rich Paul, whom she recently confirmed engagement with.
Adele is a mother to 11-year-old Angelo from her previous marriage to Simon Konecki. She has previously expressed a desire to expand her family.
This extended break marks a significant pause in Adele’s highly successful music career. Fans can still catch her remaining Las Vegas residency shows before she focuses on her personal life.
