Gervonta Davis retained his lightweight title with a spectacular KO. After a slow start, Davis landed a devastating uppercut followed by a left hook that sent Frank Martin (now 18-1) crashing to the mat. Davis remains undefeated (30-0, 28 KOs).
Davis, returning from a 14-month break, started slow. Martin, the previously undefeated challenger (18-0), used his movement and counterpunching to frustrate “Tank” in the early rounds. However, the tide began to turn in the middle rounds as Davis found his rhythm and pressured Martin. The turning point came in the eighth round.
