Knott’s Scary Farm to Retire Classic Maze, Unveils New Lineup

Buena Park, CA – Knott’s Scary Farm announced today that the iconic Wax Works maze will be retired after its final run this Halloween season. The gruesome laboratory filled with bubbling cauldrons of wax has been a staple of the annual Knott’s Scary Farm event since 2019.

As the theme park’s creative team has evolved, so too has its maze-making prowess. With newer, more immersive experiences taking center stage, Knott’s Scary Farm is making room for fresh scares. The retirement of Wax Works will likely mean the departure of other long-standing mazes, The Depths and Dark Entities, to accommodate the upcoming additions.

Fans can expect to learn more about the 2024 maze lineup at the sold-out Nightmares Revealed event on August 22. While some fan favorites like Chilling Chambers, Cinema Slasher, and Room 13 are expected to return, the fate of older mazes like Mesmer and Origins remains uncertain.
